The very first time I ever bothered to buy travel insurance was in 1997. I was finishing a two year stint in the Peace Corps and had decided to travel around Europe for a month by train. In retrospect, I'm surprised I thought to prefer the insurance, since I wasn't a seasoned traveler back in those days. Maybe I bought it because the Peace Corps had issued ominous warnings about what could happen on a trip. Once I finished my service, I no longer had any health coverage and if something disastrous happened in any of the eight European countries I visited, I would be on my own to pay for it. At any rate, I did purchase a one month policy from Traveler's Insurance that would mask me in case I got sick or injured during my trip. That policy, circa mid August through mid September 1997, cost me about $160. Back then, that was a lot of money to me, but it did give me some peace of mind. I went on my trip and enjoyed a fabulously untraumatic month in Europe. Was my $160 wasted?

The next time I purchased travel insurance was in 2009, when my husband Bill and I took our very first cruise. We purchased our fares through USAA's Explore Glide and Disappear service, a travel agency especially for USAA members. I remember Bill getting upset when the cost of move insurance was automatically added to our cruise fares. Like me, he wasn't in the habit of buying travel insurance, although travel insurance is especially recommended when you're vacationing at sea. We took an uneventful four night Baltic cruise. Did we throw away our money on travel insurance?

In 2010, Bill and I took a five night cruise on the SeaDream I, an ultra luxurious mega yacht. I booked directly with the cruise line and got a low fare. SeaDream's travel insurance cost $199 per person or 8.5% of the total fare, whichever was more. When you're paying four figures per person to take a cruise and you're not especially wealthy, that extra little bit of cash for insurance can hurt. We paid $199 per person and had a lovely, trouble-free vacation. Was that $400 as good as cash down the drain?

Even though our first SeaDream cruise was gratified, I went ahead and purchased another policy through a different insurance company for our upcoming coast this November. Why? Because even though things don't historically go awry when I travel, I've been reading the news and following the message boards on Cruise Critic. I've read panic stories of people losing a lot of money when their vacation doesn't happen as planned. And while paying several hundred dollars to insure a trip that already costs a few thousand is somewhat painful, it would be much more painful to pay thousands of non-refundable dollars for a trip that gets ruined or canceled.

What is travel insurance?

Travel insurance is a policy consumers can bewitch to protect the financial investment they execute when they recede. A disappear insurance policy can cover a wide range of unfortunate situations that can pop up before or during your trip, everything from sickness and injury to flight cancellations to losing your luggage. But beyond financially reimbursing travelers when things go south on a trip, travel insurance also gives travelers someone to call when there's an emergency. If you get hurt or sick in a foreign country, your recede insurance company can point you in the right direction to get competent and legitimate help. It's a safety gather for when things go wrong– protection against Murphy's Law.

What kinds of situations does travel insurance typically hide?

Most basic recede insurance policies cover medical or dental expenses, financial default of travel suppliers such as sail lines and airlines, sure situations that cause trip cancellation or interruption, lost or stolen baggage, legal expenses, and delayed or missed departures.

Consumers can also usually buy riders that build disappear insurance more comprehensive. For example, when I recently bought a policy through TravelInsured.com, I added an optional rider that allowed my husband and me to cancel the tear for work reasons. I could have also purchased a rider that would have allowed us to cancel for any reason. Other optional riders can include collision insurance for rental cars, coverage for sports related accidents, extra death or dismemberment coverage, or extra medical coverage.

Most travel insurance companies offer a range of comprehensive policies designed to fit their customers' needs. TravelInsured.com, for instance, offers four different polices that vary in notice and covered services. The cheapest policy is called Trip Protector Lite. It's the least expensive policy, but it's also the least comprehensive and most restrictive plan. By contrast, TravelInsured.com's most expensive and comprehensive view is World Protector Gold, which offers the highest primary emergency medical expenses and other benefits.

Some of the situations covered under travel insurance can surprise you…

I was surprised to find out that should something happen on our upcoming go that delayed us, our travel insurance would reimburse us up to $300 ($50 per day) for pet care. That's good to know, since we have two dogs that will have to be boarded during our trip.

Say you're traveling on a cruise ship and you get sick with a stomach virus. You go to the ship's doctor for some medication and the doctor decides that your illness is contagious. You acquire confined to your cabin and can't visit the ports. Well, according to a thread on Cruise Critic's messageboard, many plans will offer reimbursement when you have to be quarantined due to illness. I checked my policy and found that a situation like that would be covered.

My husband is in the Army, which means that he could be called to deploy at any time. Thankfully, because I purchased our policy through USAA's preferred travel insurer, we would be reimbursed for the cost of our trip if he suddenly has to jet off to the Middle East. We would also be covered if either my husband or I got called for jury duty or if the trip got canceled due to an act of terrorism.

In fact, reading the situations that are covered by travel insurance can be a lot of fun. It seems like the people who write the policies must sit around all day dreaming up disastrous scenarios!

A little advice

While it may be more convenient to purchase travel insurance when you buy your cruise fare, the policies offered through a cruise line or an airline might be more expensive and less comprehensive than policies you can purchase straight from an insurance company. I recommend shopping around before you commit to buying travel insurance through a travel supplier. Had I bought SeaDream's insurance, I would have had to pay 8.5% of our invoice for the flit. Our cruise fares are priced at about $3400 per person. Adding in another $800 for port fees and taxes, our total cost for fade insurance would have been $646 for about $8500 in coverage, which would have covered just the cost of the cruise fare. That's not counting what we will consume on airline tickets and pre and post cruise hotel stays, which would have required more coverage.

Purchasing a policy through USAA's relationship with TravelInsured.com, I was able to get $12000 of coverage for Bill and me at less than $500, including the optional coverage for trip cancellation due to work reasons. That's enough to cover the cruise, the plane tickets, and a couple of nights in a hotel. It really pays to comparison shop. If you think you might qualify for discounted coverage through your credit union or insurance company, by all means look into it.

Also, when you determine how grand coverage you want to purchase, be sure to consider all of your trip related expenses. Sure, your cruise tickets may be your biggest expense, but you'll also want to cover the cost of your airfare and hotel. Anything swagger related that might be affected should something happen to cancel or interrupt your breeze should be considered and added to the total amount of coverage you buy. And for heaven's sake, read the fine print before you make your bewitch!

Bon voyage!

Bill and I don't buy travel insurance for all our trips, just the ones that cost us four figures or more. Obviously, some people are more comfortable with risk than other people are. In any case, even though trip insurance is an extra expense for that slip you've scrimped and saved for, I highly recommend buying insurance to protect your investment. You never know when disaster may strike!

The one thing most people really must have but hate to take is car insurance. Affordable car insurance is only appreciated when it is needed after an accident or damage from a natural disaster. The problem is that affordable car insurance is hard to find unless you have that perfect mix of a clean driving report, good credit and insurance scores, live in the right area, be in the right age range, and drive a low risk car. For the rest of us, we may claim to have affordable car insurance, but we have to work awfully hard to make the premiums.

Drawing from personal experience and some tricky work on the internet, a list of companies that offer competitively priced if not affordable car insurance. When shopping for insurance of any type, build certain that you shop. Try as powerful as possible to compare apples to apples.

Insurance agents like to build in things to drive the price up to earn bigger commissions. Online agents do the reverse and may leave some key items out to make certain that they offer you the most affordable car insurance, but it may not always be the best for you. Here is a list of five companies that for the most portion are well known and respected. For comparison purposes, I have used an aging mini-van and not-quite-new Dodge Intrepid for test purposes.

The only discounts considered are for safe driver and multiple vehicle coverage. Several of these companies give discounts for membership in some professional, governmental, and civic organizations. Because there are hundreds of these, I recommend that you check with your company or agent for such discounts.

Safeco Insurance Company is one that I have recent personal experience as an insurance carrier. For the two vehicles mentioned, the six month premium paid for monthly by bank draft costs $84 per month. For this amount, both vehicles carry both liability that is required by law in most states and collision. The collision deductible is $250 per incident and comprehensive is at zero deductible. The liability limits are above the minimum at $100,000/$300,000. The policy does not include towing or rental car at this price. It does include underinsured and uninsured motorist coverage. Medical coverage is limited to $5,000.

The Hartford Insurance Company is another excellent insurer that was considered. For the same two vehicles, the cost was quoted at $68 per month via bank draft. While the price was lower than Safeco, there were some differences in the policy. The two major changes were that the collision deductible was raised to $500 per incident. The comprehensive was not available at a zero cost deductible. The quoted price included a $250 deductible on comprehensive. At this level, a no-deductible on windshield glass that can be repaired is offered. Liability and medical coverage was the same level as Safeco. Uninsured and underinsured motorist, no towing, and no rental car are also the same.

American Family was the next company viewed for affordable car insurance. The quote on the two vehicles came in at about $65 per month on bank draft. No changes were illustrious in the liability coverage. Medical, underinsured, and uninsured motorist were included in the premium amount. Both vehicles were covered for collision at a $500 deductible. The comprehensive was set at a $250 deductible with repairable windshield damage excluded from the deductible. The quote was obtained without towing or rental vehicle coverage.

Because of their lizard and heavy TV advertising, Geico is the next company considered for affordable car insurance. They quoted these vehicles at about $105 per month with several differences in coverage. The liabilities, underinsured, uninsured motorist coverage was the same level. The mini-van was quoted in this offer without collision or comprehensive coverage. Also, the comprehensive and collision on the Intrepid were both set at $500 per incident. Both vehicles were again quoted without towing or rental vehicle.

The final company in this list is Allstate. Having used this company a few times in the past, I have found them to be competitive when looking for affordable car insurance. However, for the quote on these vehicles, the monthly premium on a bank draft was $91. The coverage was the same as most of the other companies. Both vehicles were quoted with liability, comprehensive, and collision. The comprehensive and collision both carry a $500 deductible with the exception for windshield repair. Uninsured and underinsured motorist and medical coverage was included. Again, a rental replacement vehicle was not offered nor road hazard with towing.

Four out of the five of these quotes were obtained directly from agents. The fifth, Geico, was handled online only. There was no real difference in the clarity of the quotes with the exception that it is handy to have a live person to answer questions immediately. Geico’s website is fast and easy to employ. I was able to get a quote within three minutes from the time that I started the form until the quote was offered. The agents that I dealt with in searching for possible new coverage for vehicles, were efficient, noble, and responded within a reasonable time frame.

It is possible to find the most affordable car insurance with a moderate amount of effort. You just need to be diligent to ask for the right or desired coverage so that the quotes are able to be compared. If you change your mind about deductible amounts or liability limits during the process, be determined to go back and be sparkling to earlier agents by allowing them to quote their premium amounts with the same terms.

Some form of car insurance is mandatory by law throughout the United States. However, the amount of insurance needed can vary from spot to state. One of the first things you should do is visit your state’s DMV website and read about what insurance coverage is required. When you look into this, you may also want to engage a behold at your state’s accident laws. Are they a Tort station? Tort states regulate that someone must be at fault in an accident and responsible for damages. This can effect a big disagreement in how you settle your insurance.

Why? Because if you are in a Tort state and your state requires a very low liability car insurance opinion, you can be held responsible personally for whatever damages your insurance does not cover should you be at fault in an accident. This could be quite costly and is easily avoided by talking to your insurance representatives ahead of time and purchasing a bit more than true requirements but giving yourself a very well-known cushion should the worst happen to you when you least expect it.

The first step in finding cheap car insurance and saving yourself money is to use an online comparison site that will gather information from you about your vehicle and your driving record. They will send this information out within their network and you should receive approximately half a dozen quotes from a suited comparison site. They are however, giving these companies your information to gather your quote as accurately as possible and you may be contacted personally by those companies with more information. Be as accurate as possible when you apply for your quote. Lying might get you a cheaper quote but that will be only a temporary measure. Once you agree or mark a contract with a company they can pull your driving record up and see this information and it could cause what was at first a cheap car insurance solution to become impossible for you to pay for. If you have already agreed to a policy with this company, you can be dropped which will manufacture your rates go even higher and if it happens too much can cause you to have to take out a high risk insurance plan with an expensive policy.

The next step to take if you are trying to achieve yourself money on car insurance is to be careful with your driving record. Avoid approved mistakes like speeding or not wearing a seatbelt. In some states, a seatbelt violation does go on your record. The more citations and marks you get on your record, the higher your insurance policies go. Save yourself money by using caution and driving safely!

Another way to effect money on car insurance is to be a repeat customer with your insurance company. Companies love people that will give them money for more than one service, so much so, that in the insurance business you might even build yourself money for it! When you inquire about your car insurance, ask about home insurance, renter insurance, life insurance, or whatever else you currently own or need to look for. Asking about this can save you large bucks if you buy out multiple plans!

Are you adding a teenager to your car insurance? Save money with teenagers on your car insurance by making sure your teenage driver is not only a safe driver but has taken driver’s Education courses if available. Also impress upon them the importance of their grades. Honor roll students often qualify for car insurance discounts. This can make a spacious difference in the policy when adding a teenage driver.

If you are buying a new vehicle, be obvious to send out the inquiry about the car insurance before the capture is finalized if money is a big factor to you. Keep in mind if you are making payments on a vehicle, often times you must take out tubby coverage insurance policies. These are big dollar items! So ask questions first and avoid surprises later. Know what cars are affordable for you in terms of maintaining your insurance.

One of the biggest ways to save on your car insurance is to originate your payments on time. This ensures your policy does not lapse or procure dropped. It also keeps the insurance company from having to tack on late fees and other charges for missed payments. You can achieve a lot of pennies by being on time with your payments.

Last but not least, do not drive without car insurance. It is illegal in most states and will get you a big ticket, or possible suspension and jail time, and cost you a lot of points on that driving record. Being uninsured may seem like the cheapest insurance plan available, in reality it is the one that is the most expensive. Without insurance you stand to lose a lot! So keep that car insurance active and keep proof of that insurance in your vehicle at all times! If you aren’t driving the vehicle, check your state laws. In some cases you are still required to keep the insurance on it in order to transfer the title if you are selling it. And if you let insurance lapse for a few months on a car you are fixing, it can be quite costly to pay fines and fees when it is road ready again.

It also keeps the insurance company from having to tack on late fees and other charges for missed payments. You can do a lot of pennies by being on time with your payments.

So hold that car insurance active and keep proof of that insurance in your vehicle at all times! If you aren’t driving the vehicle, check your state laws. In some cases you are still required to keep the insurance on it in order to transfer the title if you are selling it. And if you let insurance lapse for a few months on a car you are fixing, it can be quite costly to pay fines and fees when it is road ready again.

You shop for clothes there. You recall the latest electronics there, as well. So why can’t you do all of your car shopping online the next time you need a unique or used car? Well, besides having the ability to test drive the vehicle you are interested in there really is no need for you to go down to a dealership to buy a new or veteran car.

But being as the internet is such a mountainous place where should car shoppers start if they plan on doing their car buying over the internet? Well first and foremost you need to decide what type of car you want be it a minivan, crossover, luxury sedan, convertible or sports coupe and then set your budget. If you feel like there is a car just out of reach of your budget that you just feel like you must have remember that is also what people judge moral before they get their cars repossessed.

Once you have chosen the type of car you want then narrow your choices down to the three best contenders for your hard earned dollars. You should then go out and test-drive these three cars on their own before doing any further research. The point of your test drive is to evaluate your experience with the car and not let your judgment be clouded by some auto journalist’s opinion.

Let’s say for example that you have narrowed your choices down to the BMW 328i, Mercedes C300, and Audi A4 2.0T. You have already gone out and tested all of these cars and you know what your heart is telling you but will you have the same opinion of your “popular” once the research is done? Often times not.

Most auto websites offer “Cost of Ownership” ratings in which they discuss average maintenance, fuel, insurance and fees that go along with owning a car for five years. You would be surprised how much these figures can vary from car to car. Would you really love that C-Class as much if you knew it would cost $4,000 more to own over five years than the BMW? Probably not. (Note: This is mere conjecture to make a point and does not reflect anything true about the C-300.)

Websites like Automotive.com also offer an abundance of features that help make a car shoppers life that noteworthy easier. You can estimate how much your trade-in will be worth, what your lease or finance payments would be based on your down payment and what sort of annual percentage rate (APR) that the automaker is offering at the time.

There is also a full section devoted to short term rebates and lease specials. You never know, the car you are interested in might just turn out to be quite a sweet deal. Other things to check on this plot are warranty terms, reviews and recalls (the number of recalls out on a novel car can tell you a lot about the quality of the vehicle or lack thereof).

While some other websites like Edmunds.com also offers similar programs, the system used by Automotive.com to get you a imprint quote from a dealer couldn’t be easier. Just type in your name, contact information and the exact vehicle you are interested in and you should be getting a call from an Internet Fleet Manager within a day or so with a specially lowered internet price.

After that if you are ecstatic with the final price, APR and monthly payments that the dealership is offering feel free to invent them drive the paperwork over to your home or business. It is a buyers new car market and most any dealership wouldn’t think twice about having you sign all of your paperwork in surroundings where you are more comfortable.

Besides, dealership finance offices always have this bizarre smell: cigarettes mixed with peppermint and just a hint of body odor. If you can avoid having to go through that just by doing a little work on the internet wouldn’t that compose your life a whole lot better?

As many people can see from watching the television and reading the newspaper many people are in jeopardy of loosing their American Dream…the homes which people have worked so hard to acquire. We, my husband and I are 2 of those people. We could not afford to hold are beget home until about 4 years ago, we raised our children in small rental apartments or houses. Most of the time with our son and daughter sharing the same bedroom. As the kids got older that wasn’t going to work any more, so my husband and I started working more hours and saving money, cleaning up our credit to perfection. We did everything that we could to get a home for our family.

In Feb. of 2003, we accomplished our goal, we purchased an affordable 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom home in a nice area of town with a beautiful unique water canal in the relieve yard for $94,000. The home was built in 1975 so it wasn’t perfect, but to us it was the home we hoped and dreamed about for our family to live. It was astounding for the first time we could decorate our house the draw we wanted, we didn’t have to live with pasty white walls, we could have pets…WE OWNED A HOME!!!!

Life was typical for our American family. Our teenagers could invite their friends over, there was enough room in the yard to play sports, fish in the canal, or just hang out and relax in beautiful sunny Florida.

Until life changed, on August 13, 2004 Hurricane Charlie made a explain hit on our community. Our dream home was damaged but repairable, Thank God, but financially we where in trouble. As a result of the storm my husband had lost his job, as a person working in the school system I hadn’t worked all summer so let’s say our reserves were limited already. As I already said we are a typical American working class family, living paycheck to paycheck..

After the storm we had lots of aid in the community especially from The Salvation Army. When I went to FEMA and asked for assistance…I got NO assist at all. I asked if they could help with paying 1 month mortgage payment, they couldn’t…but they where willing to put a very expensive trailer in my front yard. So I contacted my mortgage company and they placed us with special hurricane assistance department, the very nice women advised me to get 4 months behind in my mortgage and they would help us. By that time, both myself and my husband were working and we could pay the monthly payment but we were behind with about 1 1/2 months mortgage payment. They mortgage company kindly advised us to get 4 months slack and since we where at the mercy of those helping us in our community we listened. Got a subordinate mortgage which wouldn’t have to be paid until the raze of the 30 year loan and everything was wonderful!!!

A couple months later we got a survey stating that our mortgage would be going up $150 per month because of the homeowners insurance and property taxes increasing. That was alright we could afford it, my husband and I where working steadily. We had both found better paying jobs…life was nice again. The wonderful American dream had arrive back, going to work, fixing nice meals for the family, going for weekend outings…a simple life but that’s all we wanted.

Financially, life was going superb, so it was time to suitable another problem that occurred as a result of the hurricane, we had gotten behind on the credit cards and decided it was time to refinance the house and pay off that debt, we paid off the car payment and figured that since we had stable employment we could handle the increase of our mortgage. We where advised by a different mortgage company that it was a good choice to pay off our debts, increase our credit score, etc., etc. Of course when we refinanced our credit gather wasn’t that great…you peek the prior mortgage company had advised us to get 4 months behind and it appeared that we where in pre-foreclosure at that point in time.

As I stated before, we could have paid the mortgage prior to becoming 4 months behind, we did not pay under advise from a mortgage professional. When we refinanced we ended up with a very high adjustable interest rate…but it was worth it cause we got our debts paid off. The mortgage did increased and life was nice…for a while…until I lost my noble paying job. Luckily we had a little cushion in the bank and I was able to collect unemployment, I took the first job which would hire me at a much lower pay rate and we just started living the best we could…with a few cut backs. But, you got to do, what you gotta do…THAT”S LIFE!

At the demolish of 2006 we received another letter from our mortgage company stating that we would have an increase in our escrow, another $100 per month…our mortgage has basically double from it’s original amount. Unfortunately, our income has not and with the price of gas, food, electricity, and everything needed to survive increasing I decided to look for a better paying job. In April 2007, I found a full time job which would pay me more per hour and would help offset the increase in our mortgage. I knew it wasn’t going to make me rich, but I figured it would be a serve. I had to do the right thing to pay my bills properly.

Life was getting rough with the increase of gas prices, and my husbands job requiring so much driving. My mind was set on…we need more money, we need a better income, we need to do the apt things to withhold our American Dream going.

Heres where the nightmare starts, I started my new job in April, not just a job but a step toward my career, you see I have been going to college for over 10 years trying to glean my teaching degree…the other dream. This child care center was highly recommended to me it offered a higher income and unbelievable work atmosphere…it sounds big doesn’t it? By the end of May most of the children graduated the program and would be heading to kindergarten, the school attendance dropped considerably as a result I have been working only 30, 24, 12, even 3 hours a week a my wonderful highly recommended FULL TIME job.

In the mean time my husband lost his job and was denied unemployment (that’s another story for another time). As a result we have been living off of next to nothing for the past several months. He will actually commence working next week at a lower paying job that he is overqualified for but it’s better then nothing.

As I sit here today, we are almost 4 months behind on our mortgage payment. I have spoken to my current mortgage company several times trying to get assistance. I have spoken to numerous other mortgage companies trying to refinance or accept information to know and understand what to do. I have searched for a new job, second job any way to do additional income. My husband has been looking for a job, traveling miles spending money like crazy on gas. I have contacted several social service agencies in our community with very little success. We make too much money, we don’t make enough money, they don’t help with mortgages, I can’t go rent another house yet cause I still beget this one. When I asked the mortgage company “How long do I have before I have to leave this house? ” that can’t say it verbally, I have to wait until I get the letter in the mail.

My husband and I are slowly becoming physically and yes mentally sick, we can’t sleep. I go to sleep crying, I wake up crying then have to pull myself together to go to work…for how many hours? When will they tell me to go home, do I bring lunch or not? Do I go home and pack my belongings or will some miracle happen where we will be blessed with enough money to pay at least one month of the mortgage and finish or at least slow down the foreclosure process.

Will we become homeless? Thank God the kids are young adults and have their own places to live. What will happen to my kids pictures, the keepsakes I inherited from my grandparents? Who will take my pets? How much of my life will I fit in my mini van?

The American Dream…we work so hard, then what happens? Does our government really realize that the working class people need attend? Will they make the right choices with the mortgage reforms to help the working people? Will these changes happen soon enough so maybe, fair maybe, I won’t loose my home?

What’s the answer to this nightmare? WHEN will it END? HOW will it Slay?

Are we just some of those improper lives that people are taking about?

DO WE JUST STOP TRYING TO SUCCEED!!!???? And give up on our AMERICAN DREAM…

The Toyota Motor Corporation was first established in 1937 as a spin-off from Toyoda Automatic Loom Works, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of weaving machinery (“Toyota History”). The patent rights from Toyoda Automatic Loom Works provided funds for the development and test-building of its first automobiles. In 1950, the company had its one and only strike; management and labor came to a approved principle of trust and dependence that is level-headed present to this day. During the 1950s, the establishment started the “Toyota Production System”. This system is the main reason in the decline of inventories and defects in the plants of Toyota and its suppliers. The company not only manufactures cars, but it as a global network of facilities for “research and development” embracing the three major car markets, Japan, North America and Europe (“Toyota History”). Today, Toyota is one of the world’s top three largest manufacturers of automobiles in unit sales and in derive sales.

It is a global company that has a strong position in 170 countries worldwide (Business Teacher) but they emphasize their focus on Japan, North America and Europe. It has 316,121 employees all over the world.

The automaker has a reputation for manufacturing expedient and reliable cars. As it was said by the Global Insight analyst Thomas Ryard “Toyota’s reputation for mechanical reliability and component quality is second to none” (Overtake GM–But Say It Softly). It has also built a name for its self both with its Lexus and Toyota products on quality and efficiency; this reputation has gained good reviews from consumer reports and J.D. Power.

The manufacturer has a vast scope and delves into many parts of the automobile industry. Toyota primarily manufactures cars but it also researches and develops current technologies to improve the efficiency and quality of their cars. The establishment also provides all of their car parts and accessories for cars for just the luxury of the customer. It also makes motorsports cars for racers. This shows that Toyota is not just a simple car manufacturer that makes cars for the normal consumer but it also does it for specific markets and is at the top of the innovation in the automaker industry.

The company has many products that span from small compact cars to the SUVs. All the products follow a general guideline if efficiency and quality. Its most well known products are the Corolla, the Camry, the Yaris and the Prius. Most of those automobiles have won awards or qualified reviews.

Toyota has many research and development facilities creating new technological marvels for the industry. The gas and diesel engines are being worked on to reduce fuel consumption and gas emission. The hybrid technology is improving; three areas are up and coming with electricity, hydrogen fuel cells and Bioenergy. The technology is being developed and will be attach to the test in upcoming years.

The last key factor that is important to the company is the “Toyota Production System”. It has been established based on many years of continuous improvement, with its mission being “making the vehicles ordered by customers in the quickest and most efficient way, in order to deliver the vehicles as quickly as possible”(“Toyota Production System”).The TPS is based on two concepts: the first one is “jidoka” meaning that meaning that when a problem occurs, equipment is halted and effectively preventing the production of faulty products; the second concept is “Just in Time”, each process produces only what is needed by the next process in continuous flow. The combination of the concepts has made the TPS an efficient way to quick gain quality cars, to satisfy the customer.

Non Financial and Financial Goals

The Toyota Motor Corporation has some non financial goals in mind. It wants to attach more environmentally edifying, safe, efficient and enchanting cars but that also have convenience, comfort and enjoyment. They are making sustainable plants (factories) with the “goal of creating production sites in harmony with its surroundings”(“Toyota Annual Recount 2008″). It also has financial goals; it wants to reduce the thickness of the parts by half while keeping the same level of quality. The manufacturing company also wants to keep making sales with rising prices, concerns for the environment and unpleasant economy in North America; more sales would mean more net revenue.

Core Values, Mission and Vision Statements

Toyota Motor Vehicle Corporation’s mission statement is “To attract and attain customers with high-valued products and the services and the most satisfying ownership in America” (“Mission and Vision Statements? “); this mission statement correctly represents Toyota values since it does provide high-valued which is why it is one of the top three automakers in the United States and first globally. The vision statement is “To be the most successful and respected car company in America” (“Mission and Vision Statements? “); the vision that Toyota is trying to achieve is done, they are the most successful car company but in America and they are respected for all their innovations in the automotive world. The company also takes care of their most crucial component, its employees; they are rewarded for their good attendance and work ethic so they strive to do well in their work. Line employees are actively engaged in making decision with respect to parts supply and production (Peppers and Rogers). This shows a strong positive relationship between the employees and the company which is not always the case with other companies.

Core Competences

Toyota Motor Vehicle Corporation has many aspects it standout accomplish the pack of automobile manufacturers. As stated previously in the paper, it is a global company that has a strong position in 170 countries worldwide; it employs 316,121 employees all over the world. The size created the necessary conditions for it to become the number one automaker in the world. The quality of the cars is always tested and two areas are focused on product field assurance and product manufacturing insurance. Activities supporting field quality consist of field data collection, identifications and solutions to quality issues that may arise, prevention of the occurrence of problems. Activities supporting manufacturing quality comprise of development and management of quality system requirements, quality policy and procedures, and the quality assurance of the raw materials that are used in the cars(“Toyota Annual Report 2008″). Toyota has stringent quality control policies that crop the possible malfunctioning of any of their vehicles. Another factor that makes Toyota unusual is the Prius, one of their brands of vehicles. The Toyota Prius is the world’s most successful gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle. In a world where gas prices are rising, the economy and the environment get progressively worse, people want cars that are energy saving which reduce both problems previously stated; Toyota managed to net its hands on the number one spot for the hybrid vehicles but it also won the J.D.
Situation Analysis

Toyota has its strengths and weaknesses. The fact that it is a global company is doing quite well in many countries, also makes it one of the top three automakers in the world. It has constructed the best gasoline-electric hybrid, the Prius. It has made a reputation for itself of excellent quality, efficient and environmentally superior cars. It has some weaknesses as well, the bad economy can negatively affect the car sales which in turn will decrease net revenue because people are spending less money on buying cars. Being a big company also has its down side; Toyota markets most of its products to Japan, and North America so it is exposed to the fluctuating economies of both markets. The company is under the effect of other factors like opportunities and threats. The establishment has many opportunities that can make their business even more lucrative than it already is like the development of new concepts like the hydrogen fuel cells, an extremely efficient and no green house gases emission. It could expand as well in the Hybrid car market since there is a potential for higher sales. Furthermore threats are knocking on the automakers’ door, the car manufacturing industry is a highly competitive market and staying at the top is not always easy. Other companies are starting their hybrid cars division meaning the Prius is going to derive some competition. The volt made by General Motors is a serious threat; it uses electricity as its main fuel but can also run on gasoline, making it somewhat of a hybrid.

There are several cheap car insurance companies. Listed here are a few and a review of what information is contained on their websites.

Progressive has claimed to be a cheap car insurance company. They offer services such as 24/7 claim service, pet accident insurance, and someone to assist you with buying a car if yours gets totaled, and discounts for a safe driving record and having more than one car insured with them. In completing a quote, individuals are asked to provide the car that they drive, personal identifying information, and whether they have any driving violations. Individuals are then offered a choice of what kind of car insurance they would like, and the amount of money they could pay for each of those insurances, which may or may not be cheaper than what they are already paying.

Geico also has claimed itself to be a cheap car insurance company. Their claim is that 15 minutes could save you up to 15 percent on your insurance. One bonus with Geico is that they do provide all the different coverages that are available and that you the consumer should consider having on your policy. I started a quote from them but became frustrated at the amount of information that they required. Some personal information I was allowed to opt out of giving like my phone number and social security number, but others I was not like my occupation and how much I am paying for my insurance currently. Geico does not provide coverage in Massachusetts.

Allstate is going a different route in being a cheap car insurance company. Their claim is a pleasant driving bonus for every 6 months an individual goes without an accident they can earn up to 5% of their premium. They can also earn money off of their deductible. Individuals can also receive a quote online.

State Farm can also be considered a cheap car insurance company. They offer to their individuals information such as how much insurance do they need, what affects the notice of their insurance, what are coverage and deductible options, and auto insurance discounts. They offer discounts for Multiple Vehicle, Multiple Line, Fresh Vehicle Safety, Accident Free, Anti-Theft Diagram, Defensive Driving, Good Driving, Fine Student and, Driver Training. Individuals can derive a quote online in about 15 minutes.

Nationwide is also a cheap car insurance company, because they claim that you can put up to $500. They offer 100% guarantee on repairs for as long as you own the vehicle. They offer 24/7 claim service. They also offer free On Your Side Reviews to assist you with choosing discounts and coverage that are right for you.

Amica also claims to be a cheap car insurance company. They do not offer much information about their auto insurance online. However, you can complete a quote online.

Esurance offers the most information about cheap car insurance companies. Esurance allows individuals to obtain a quote that compares auto insurance rates. This allows the individual to pick the best insurance information for them. Individuals can then choose the policy lawful online. Esurance claims that if another company offers a cheaper rate you can purchase the policy.
